Lots has happened in the past 2 months! Easton was officially potty trained by his 2nd Birthday!! He was so good, he had a couple of accidents every week in the month it took us to potty train him and that was it. He is currently Obsessed with Cars, and I am not joking! He has quick little eyes so when we are at stores he spots ANYTHING with Disney Cars on it! It all started with a blue lightning McQueen car that we bought him one day when we were out for him doing so great with potty training. We own the movie so we let him watch a little bit of it so he could see what it was all about. From that point on we have created a little Disney Cars fan! He carries one of his Cars around EVERYWHERE! If we would let him he would take one of his Cars underwear with him as well. He also loves to watch the short little Mater tales.
On his birthday we took him out to breakfast and enjoyed some time with just the 3 of us! Later that night we of course had a Disney Cars themed birthday party for him at our house. He was so excited! He enjoyed having everyone here but he really was not to into opening all his presents. He just wanted to play with the ones that he had already opened. Brandon ordered a Lightening Mcqueen and Mater birthday cake! Easton loved it! He got all shy and shrugged up his shoulders when we sang happy birthday. He still is not into eating birthday cake so he did not eat much of it.
December was full of Christmas fun! We did a little shopping while Easton was with us one day and we have been looking at the stores for any of the Disney Car characters to give him for Christmas. Well we found Wingo, one of the hot rod cars on the show, and decided to buy it. We thought for sure that by the time the next day came Easton would forget we bought it. Boy were we wrong!! He remembered it and certainly made sure that we knew that he knew about it. We told him that "Wingo is gone", he then proceeded with "Why?". We told him that we would let Santa know that he wanted Wingo and if he was really good for Dad and Mom then Santa might bring him for Christmas. Well from then on he would tell us "Santa bring Wingo?" It was so stinkin cute! It worked as a bribe as well to help him behave. When people would ask what Santa was going to bring him for Christmas he would say Wingo and get go excited. Next We took him out to play in the snow for the first time and he thought it was the greatest thing! He took 2 of his Disney Cars out with him and he would just throw them in the snow and then go and dig them out! I even got him to make snow angels with me! We took a trip up to Hogle Zoo for the ZOO lights. It was a cold night but he sure did enjoy looking at all of the lights and seeing Santa and his Reindeer. A few days later we looked out our bedroom window and in our neighbors front yard were 9 deer eating! We showed them to Easton and he kept saying "look reindeer". He watched them for a good 15 min and for a few weeks after would look out the window and look for the "reindeer." We had the Larsen Family Christmas party and it was nice to see all my Aunts and Uncles as well as most of my cousins there. Even my Uncle and Aunt who live in Arizona made it up for the party!
Christmas Eve is Brandon's Birthday! We hung out with just the 3 of us in the morning and then headed off to meet the Olson Family for Lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Then for the 1st time since in the 7 years that Brandon and I have been together we actually stayed home for most of Christmas Eve and decided it is time that we start to create our own family traditions. The tradition we started this year is to get Easton a Christmas book and read it together as a family. This year we got him the Mater Saves Christmas and Easton loved it. We decided to still make a quick trip to my parents for the traditional PJ's and picture then headed to Brandon's parents for a few min. Once we got home and got Easton to bed, Brandon and I began the task of putting together Easton's one big Christmas present, a train table and track. It took us a few hours and made us appreciate what our parents did when we were little.
Christmas Day began with Easton coming down the stairs and looking around with a scowl on his face (this has been a common occurrence with him lately) Once he got more relaxed he began opening presents and started to really enjoy it! Let's just say we spoiled him WAY to much this year! His Christmas was 90% Disney Cars related. We let him open all of his presents and then saved Wingo for last! He got so excited about Wingo. Then it was off to make our rounds to families houses. This year was not as busy as years past partly because we did not need to go to my Larsen Grandparents since we had the Christmas party. We were actually able to go home in the middle of the day and give Easton a quick nap and then head out and finish the rest of the families and get home in time for his bed time. The day after Christmas we actually just stayed home and let Easton have fun and play with all his new toys! Brandon and I were able to take time off together during the holidays and it was so nice to just spend time together and not always have to be going somewhere. We were able to accomplish quite a bit around the house. We also made a trip to our favorite place to get breakfast, The Hub in Heber City! It was really nice. We of course did some new Years Shopping but not one thing was for us. We got great sales for Easton's Summer and Winter Wardrobes for next year!
Now it is 2011 and I can not believe it! My Brother is getting married in April this Year and my Sister is getting married in June! It will be fun to plan the 2 weddings and they have both asked me to take their engagement and bridal pictures so I am really excited!
Well there is lots more to add but for now I will leave at this and come back!
